Booking Terms

Version 1.0 · Last updated October 14, 2026

The short version. KOKO is a technology platform where people discover, book, and log martial-arts training. KOKO is not a gym, coach, or training provider, and it does not run, supervise, or vet any training. When you book a coach, your agreement for the session is with the coach. KOKO collects your payment on the coach's behalf and holds it until the session is confirmed.

These Booking Terms apply whenever you book a private or small-group session with a coach on KOKO (a "Coach Booking"), for example when you tap Book a private or Book a seat. They are part of the KOKO Terms of Service, which also apply. By completing a Coach Booking you agree to these Booking Terms. "KOKO," "we," and "us" mean KOKO Industries LLC, a Hawaii limited liability company.

1. Who you are booking with

When you book, your agreement for the coaching session is with the coach, not with KOKO. Coaches are independent businesses who set their own prices, schedules, locations, and methods. KOKO provides the app and collects your payment on the coach's behalf (Section 3). KOKO does not vet, certify, endorse, or supervise coaches and does not certify belt rank. Before you book, review the coach's profile and confirm for yourself that the coach and session are right and safe for you.

2. Who can book

You must be 18 or older. You may book only for yourself, and you must be the person who attends. Coach Bookings may not be made by, for, or with anyone under 18.

3. Price and payment

3.1 What you pay. Checkout shows the full amount you pay before you confirm, including the coach's session price and any KOKO booking fee and taxes. Your card or other payment method is charged when you book.

3.2 KOKO collects on the coach's behalf. The coach has appointed KOKO as their limited payment collection agent. When you pay KOKO for a Coach Booking, you have paid the coach for that booking. KOKO holds the payment and releases the coach's share only after the session is confirmed (Section 5). Your card statement may show the charge as "KOKO." Payments are processed by Stripe.

4. Cancellations, rescheduling, and refunds

Unless a different cancellation policy appears on the coach's offering before you book, the KOKO Standard Policy applies:

What happensYour refund
You cancel 24 hours or more before the start timeFull refund
You cancel less than 24 hours before the start timeNo refund of the session price
You don't show upNo refund of the session price
The coach cancels or doesn't show upFull refund, including any KOKO booking fee
The coach cancels for weather, injury, illness, or safetyFull refund, unless you accept a new time

Rescheduling. You or the coach can propose a new time in the app. The booking changes only when both of you agree. Until then, the original booking and its cancellation deadline still apply.

How refunds are paid. Refunds go back to your original payment method, usually within 5 to 10 business days after KOKO processes them, depending on your bank. If the session was not delivered and the payment has not yet been released to the coach, KOKO refunds you from the amount it is holding.

Your legal rights. Nothing in these Booking Terms limits any refund or other remedy that the law gives you and that cannot be waived.

5. Checking in and confirming your session

At the session, check in in the app. Checking in confirms that the session took place and logs it to your Track Record. If you neither check in nor report a problem within 48 hours after the scheduled end time, the session is treated as delivered and the coach is paid. If something went wrong (for example, the coach did not appear or the session was materially different from what was offered), report it in the app within that 48-hour window so KOKO can hold the payment while it looks into it.

6. Problems and disputes

If you report a problem, KOKO will review what you, the coach, and the app's records show, and will decide in good faith whether to refund you in full or in part from the payment it is holding. That decision is about the held payment only. It does not limit your legal rights against the coach. If you are considering a chargeback with your bank, please contact us first at [email protected]. We can usually fix a problem faster than a dispute can.

7. Waivers and safety

7.1 Waivers. Before your first booking you must accept KOKO's Participant Waiver. If the coach requires their own waiver, you must also accept it before the booking is complete. KOKO records which version you accepted and when. If a coach changes their waiver, you will be asked to accept the new version before your next booking with them.

7.2 Training is dangerous. Martial arts and combat-sports training carry a real risk of serious injury, permanent disability, and death. You are responsible for knowing your own health and limits, telling the coach about any injury or condition before you train, and stopping when something is wrong. In an emergency, call 911.

7.3 Conduct. Treat your coach with respect. Report any harassment, misconduct, or unsafe behavior to KOKO through the app or at [email protected]. If an incident involves a crime or immediate danger, contact law enforcement first.

8. Notifications and calendars

KOKO will send booking confirmations, changes, cancellations, and reminders through the app and to the contact information on your account. Keep it up to date. If you add a session to Google, Apple, or another calendar, that calendar entry may not update automatically if the session changes. The KOKO app is the official record of your booking.

9. Off-platform arrangements

If you arrange or pay for a session with a coach outside KOKO, that arrangement is entirely between you and the coach. KOKO's payment collection, refunds, dispute handling, and booking records apply only to sessions booked and paid through KOKO.

10. Everything else

These Booking Terms are part of the KOKO Terms of Service. That includes its assumption of risk and release, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and binding individual arbitration and class-action waiver (with its 30-day opt-out). If these Booking Terms conflict with the Terms of Service, these Booking Terms control for Coach Bookings. KOKO may update these Booking Terms. Updates do not change the terms of a booking you have already made. Questions: [email protected].
